Interview with Fabio Ridolfi

We interview Fabio Ridolfi, sales director of Med-Italy, who introduces us to the new international trade fair dedicated to evening dress, elegant footwear and accessories.

Why Naples as venue for the show?

Naples, but the whole of Campania, is the Italian capital of elegant and evening dress, a brand that attracts Italian and foreign buyers. We have chosen this city with great enthusiasm as the venue for the event, with the aim of making it one of the most important and eagerly awaited events in Europe over the next three years.

Versatility and great exhibition space also make the Mostra d'Oltremare a perfect location for the needs of an exhibition event of this magnitude.

What feedback are you getting from industry manufacturers?

The announcement about this new fair has been received with great enthusiasm, very far beyond our expectations. The manufacturers endorsements have been many and immediate. What impressed us most - and clearly made us proud - was the great cooperation and willingness by firms to make this fair a success. This is symptomatic of the great energy of this sector. This economic-geographical area also needs for an event like this one.
Our goal is to promote the quality of Made in Italy in the textile sector. Tailoring, craftsmanship and entrepreneurial skills are the characteristics to which we are aiming and which we want to make known all over the world.

What results do you expect in terms of buyer attendance for this first edition?

First of all we focuses on a very important fact: more than 70% of the Italian ceremonu market turnover in the Southern of the country. This is confirmed by the fact that the main buyers from Sicily, Apulia, Basilicata, Calabria and, of course, Campania have already confirmed their presence in the three-day event to be held June 17-19, 2023.

We are certain that Central and Northern Italy will also respond very well, having the opportunity to combine participation in the event with the chance to enjoy Campania's tourist and enogastronomic heritage, taking advantage of the pre-summer season to stay in the many Campania resorts bordering the capital.

Does the event include side events during the days of the show?

We scheduled two fashion show-events on Saturday and Sunday evenings; we are defining in these days the brands that will present the 2024 collections on the catwalk.

We thank Fabio Ridolfi, sales director of MED-ITALY by giving us an appointment for the middle of June to attend the formal dress event aimed at manufacturers.

"How do I dress?" is the question every woman asks before attending a wedding as a wedding guest.

The possibilities to range are of course endless, but remember to follow a few small tricks to avoid style slips and find the right dress code for the perfect invitee.

In this article we want to talk to you about women's shoes, an essential accessory in every wedding invitee's outfit.

Beautiful and comfortable at the same time

Shoes have the arduous task of having to be beautiful and comfortable at the same time, to be worn with ease and grace. Ranging from the simplest to the most sophisticated models, the choice is truly vast, for every season, for all types of women.

On the one hand, therefore, better to balance design and comfort. On the other, it will be crucial to aim for a height that can enhance us, but at the same time give us agility and grace.

For church celebrations, etiquette is very strict when it comes to footwear and imposes the closed toe shoe, best pump but also slingback or Mary Jane.

Let's discover together a selection of elegant ceremony shoes for women, to show off in the autumn months and perfect even in bad weather.

Groom shoes: a guide to making the perfect choice!

We know, the bride tends to catalyze all the attention of the day on herself and her dress. But the groom, too, wants his part with a look that is taken care of down to the smallest detail: the focus is on the suit, but groom accessories must also be meticulously chosen, without neglecting any element, first and foremost the shoes. The accessories should be perfectly coordinated with the suit. The question is, therefore, a must: how to choose the right groom shoes?

Pay attention to the model

The choice is between three models: the Oxford, Derby or the loafer shoe. Three models all very elegant, but at the same time characterized by a different style and look.

The Oxford is undoubtedly the most refined choice, for the classy man. It is the formal shoe par excellence and is perfect when paired with a tailored tight or suit. To be chosen plain or in a cap toe cut version, this model is distinguished by its closed lacing.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, open lacing is the number one feature of the Derby shoe, for the man who seeks a more sporty and informal look, while still remaining very elegant.

Finally, the loafer: perfect for the more glamorous groom who looks at trends. This is definitely the model that allows more experimentation in terms of materials, colors and embroidery. Space, therefore, to fine leathers or jacquard fabrics for the man who wants to leave his mark.

Colors and materials: the most classic choices

Black and blue represent the most basic shades from which to choose one's groom shoe without going wrong, to be carefully matched to the nuance of the ceremony suit. Tone-on-tone looks are certainly very elegant, but contrast is also welcome if designed harmoniously. The sock should be the same color as the shoe, except for the more whimsical brides and grooms who may venture with a colorful or patterned choice.

The most elegant material is patent leather with a shiny effect, perfect for evening and very formal weddings. Alternatively, for an always traditional look, the groom can go for a brushed calfskin shoe with a leather bottom.
